XFC started in 2021 with the goal of increasing student skills with Python OOP, repository management, and implementing Fuzzy-based AI/ML models in a fun and challenging competition! There is also a focus on Fuzzy logic an its use to explain AI agent behaviors. Participants will develop AI agents to play the Python video game "Kessler" using machine learning and then compete against other teams with their solution for cash prizes! Registration is open now!
This year's competition is active now, register today! Check out the tutorial files and getting started guide for an example genetic Fuzzy system in Kessler. Make sure and check out the seminar or the FAQ page if you have any questions.
XFC began with a "beta test" competition in 2021. The first year, the challenge was to control a single spaceship, with your AI agent, playing the game Asteroid Smashers. The next year we scaled up and included controlling multiple ships in random scenarios. Now we've moved on to Kessler (with more updates to come!), an open source game created and maintained by Thales. Here are the winning teams from previous years.
